Precinct Partner: Eat Street Northshore

Eat Street Northshore is a significant contributor to the local economy and culture. Relocating to its current site in 2017, supporting 130 jobs and boosting Northshore Brisbane visitation by 89%.

The relocation, facilitated by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), opened a previously inaccessible river section to the public and launched a new look for Eat Street. The expanded area, built from 167 repurposed shipping containers, offers a sensory feast.

Annually, over one million people enjoy an international dining experience with a choice of over 50 micro-restaurants and food vendors.

The site, once home to the Hamilton Wharves, now houses almost 180 repurposed shipping containers over 10,200 sqm, offering culinary delights, five themed bars, eclectic shops, and live entertainment across four stages. Visitors can access the site from one of 1,000 free car parks or via public transport, including the Northshore Hamilton ferry terminal.

Eat Street invests over $1.2 million annually in entertainment, supporting up to 24 live acts every weekend. Sustainability is a key focus, with initiatives to reduce waste, repurpose materials, and grow produce on-site. The site’s maritime history is preserved, and its transformation into a vibrant food and entertainment precinct has made it one of Brisbane’s most distinctive visitor drawcards.

The success of Eat Street Northshore enables EDQ’s development partners, including Frasers Property Australia, Alcyone Hotel Residences and Brookfield Residential Properties, to capitalise on the increased visitation and Northshore brand awareness throughout evolving urban renewal activities.

Eat Street Northshore is open every Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 10pm, and every Sunday from 4pm to 9pm.
