Kinda Cool Music Festival
Not your average music festival – the kindacool Birthday Party is a carefully curated event showcasing the hottest artists in the underground dance scene.
Presenting the kindacool BIRTHDAY PARTY with:
He’s synonymous with Detroit dance, but holds a presence well beyond the DJ booth. Often compared to the likes of Theo Parrish, Derrick May and Moodymann, Omar S emerged in 2003 as a next generation maverick. Operating independently both in his approach to production, and with his own creativity, he has implanted his own take on Detroit dance. He combines raw, unfiltered Detroit techno; with zesty piano riffs, hip-hop samples and heavy hardware synths for the ultimate groove. Despite appearances at the world’s most astute dancefloors, and as a musical mentor to Off White creator Virgil Alboh, you’ll still see Omar hosting parties for his neighbourhood crew.
Anchoring a presence as one of Australia’s best DJ’s, Merve is fresh off a world-beating tour of Europe which included performances at Innervisions Barcelona, Panorama Bar (Berghain) and the re-opening of iconic Amsterdam dance music facility De School. With unrivalled global experience and an infectiously positive dancefloor energy, Merve joins us for an exclusive 2022 Queensland performance.
Born in Poland, but now based in Kaurna/Adelaide, Subjoi is a global producer with Australia at heart. Whilst his productions emit an uplifting lo-fi house and disco vibe, his performances challenge expectation, often permeating to UKG, techno and darker hits. You’ll catch his name on labels like Lobster Theremin, Shall Not Fade and Lost Palms with soul-melting rhythms which feel like a fresh summer breeze.
Regarding as one of the country’s fastest rising musicians, with recent performances at Boiler Room Sugar Mountain and Vivid Sydney, kindacool proudly presents Dameeeela for a show in her hometown of Meanjin. With an ability to cater to any genre, audience and energy, her mixes are bursting with electric passion and rife with experimentation, combined with an ongoing reminder of club music’s origins in Black culture.
DANCE REACTION (Kabi Kabi)
‘Dance Reaction’ is the recently formed duo of two well known club DJ’s from the formative years of The Fortitude Valley. As previous residents of then famous nightclubs Oh Hello and TBC Club, Alex Millington and Jawgoh come together for an action-packed B2B project which knows how to set a dancefloor alight.

Having welcomed over ten international guests from the likes of Job Jobse, John Talabot and Chaos In The CBD to Queensland, often in obscure locations such as bridges and industrial spaces, it has also played a role in the growth and expansion of some of the country’s fastest rising DJ’s and producers.
